We fired up the grill for our annual farewell to summer feast on the patio—a barbecue & wine dinner. Executive Chef Jose Ochoa seared up a savory family-style tasting, including freshly picked produce from our garden, along with an Argentine-inspired asado of grilled meats. The evening fare was complemented by a refreshing selection of expertly-paired wines by William Miller of Harry's Wine & Liquor Market and special guest, Rachelle Bose of Vine Connections —featuring fan-favorites from South America.

Meet Jose Ochoa, Executive Chef at Barcelona Fairfield. ––––– Q: Describe the moment you knew you wanted to be a chef. A: I originally went to college to earn my degree in computer programming. After a couple years I realized that it was not something that I was passionate about––I was constantly falling asleep in class and feeling unmotivated. It's after I left school that I began to focus on what truly made me happy. Cooking was something that I picked up as a hobby and fell in love with. I decided to turn my love for cooking into a career and enrolled myself into the French Culinary Institute. From that day forward I knew I had made the best decision in my life––I followed my passion. ▪️ Q: What advice do you have for home cooks? A: Get a good cookbook––Ad Hoc by Thomas Keller is a must-have.
